Blue Fox

2023

Mother of Pearl Broach

POL.0001

My grandma was big on broaches. She was an extremely chic woman.

I inherited a few of her broaches, but this blue fox has become a talisman that I carry with me.

I like bringing it to friends for big moments in their lives where they might need something to

hold onto or fidget with.

Comfort Meal

1997-Present

Toast with raspberry jam and butter

POL.0002

Since I was a kid, toast with jam and butter has been my comfort meal.

If I'm sick, need to eat but nothing sounds good, or just need a quick snack, this will always be my first choice.

I love it with eggs, hot sauce, and everything but the bagel seasoning too. The sweet, salty, spicy mix is perfection.

Kiwano

September 2025

Horned Melon

POL.0003

My partner and I love trying exotic fruits. This one tasted like cucumber and I put it in my yogurt bowl with some lime on top.

Going to markets in chinatown is a common activity for us to explore produce we've never tried before.

Victorian Letter

February 2026

Ink and marker on folded paper

POL.0004

I learned how to fold these for my bridesmaids. Each layer had unique drawings for each person and once it was fully open there was a long note asking them to be in my bridal party.

These were a labor of love and something I was really proud and excited to give to people I love.

Proof of Life Origin

May 2026

Ink on paper

POL.0005

"Proof of Life" has been something I've been thinking about for a long time, but only recently put it into words. As I've gotten older, the years have started to fly by and sometimes I need a reminder that I've been living. Even though I live a very full life, every so often I feel a pull to zoom out and remind myself all of things that get lost in my camera roll and notes app.

That's what led to the idea of a personal archive.

Save the Dates

April 2026

Mixed media; powder blue envelope, velum envelope, cardstock, cherry wax seal, stamp

POL.0006

We made our own save the dates and it's been such a highlight from our year of wedding planing. We had so much fun picking out the paper goods and finding the right cherry red for the wax seals.

My partner addressed each envelope by hand. I love his handwriting so much.

Busted Ceramics

May 2026

Glazed stoneware and matches

POL.0007

My friend Kelsey Malone makes these incredible ceramic pieces in a wide array of beautiful colors. I got this red dish and a blue one recently and have used them to serve olives, but also hold matches.

I love these Wild Cherry matches that look like a slot machine.

Engagement

October 2025

Film still from canon camera

POL.0008

This is a film still from the camera my partner set up to capture the surprise proposal. He pulled the ring out of a pastry box that contained a cinnabun, so there was frosting all over him lol.

Peak life moment.

Silly

May 2026

Letterpress on paper

POL.0009

My partner and I took a letterpress class recently to see if we might be able to make our own wedding invitations. We learned the manual process, but there is a way to make a custom plate that they print your design onto and make all the invites within a few hours.

It's a huge cost saving hack if you're tired of these wedding prices.

Grumpy Turtle

September 2025

Jellycat stuffed animal

POL.0010

My partner says this is me in a stuffed animal. I'm not always grumpy, but when I am, I can see it.

The Perfect Couch

2021-present

Couch fabric swatch

POL.0011

This is a couch that my aunt gave to me to help furnish my first apartment in NYC. It has followed me to two more apartments and has always fit perfectly.

It is the perfect size and it goes with any decor. I love her so much.

One time she got stuck in the hallway while we were moving and the fire department almost had to cut it in half.

The Perfect Cat

2021-present

Bengal cat

POL.0012

Our cat Miso is the ultimate Proof of Life. She reminds us everyday that it's not that serious.

She is perfect in every way.
